Cutting through the noise
A delightful find with warm hosts and a cozy atmosphere. The meals were home-cooked and generous. breakfast options were extensive, from Full English to cereals. Nearby beautiful trails invite exploration. While there's no designated parking, off-street options felt safe. Ideal for a peaceful retreat, this gem deserves a visit!

Fresh seafood dishes that make your taste buds sing! The breakfast spread was top-notch, with options galore, and the comfy beds felt like sleeping on a cloud. The homely vibes really gave it a family feel.
Sure, I noticed the absence of towel rails, which was a bit of a head-scratcher, but honestly, everything else really shone through this charming pub experience.

The owners were exceptionally welcoming and helpful.
During my stay, I found the walls of the bedrooms to be quite thin, which led to some noise from the adjacent room that detracted from my overall experience. it was disappointing to discover that the bathroom didn’t have any towel rails, making it a bit inconvenient. Lastly, the absence of a designated dining option on Sundays left us without a proper meal. while we managed to get takeaway, it wasn’t the same as enjoying a nice sit-down dinner.

Noise from the bar area could be distracting, particularly if you're seeking a quiet stay.

A homely and welcoming pub. Comfortable twin room with a lovely en-suite. Staff genuinely attentive and eager to help. Breakfast featured generous portions with options for everyone’s taste. Dinner menu included hearty home-cooked meals, perfect after a day of exploring. The location offers great access to nature walks. Limited local transport options could make it tricky if you don't drive. I noticed the absence of coat hooks in the room, which would have been useful. the experience felt authentic, and I'd definitely consider returning for the food and atmosphere.

i recently stayed for 2 nights at The Royal Oak and had an amazing experience. the breakfast was 5 star with plenty of high quality options, and the staff were incredibly welcoming and accommodating. it truly felt like a home away from home during my stopover in the area.
the shower needed a non-slip mat.

Had a great weekend with friends! Friendly staff provided an amazing breakfast and delicious dinner options. The beds were comfy, making it a perfect base for exploring nearby nature trails. This pub is dog-friendly, which added to the fun. Definitely recommend the hearty home-cooked meals and the welcoming atmosphere!
Only downside was the shower, which was a bit tricky with fluctuating temperatures. It took a while to figure out how to get it just right.
